Day 36, Friday, 02/01/08

We drove 260 miles yesterday to get to El Centro, CA.

Picked an RV park right next to the Naval Air Station where the Blue Angels are based. Twice a day they take off and do a few loops and rolls before rocketing out into the desert to practice. It's really an inspiring sight. Other than the Blue Angels, other Navy jet fighters are taking off and landing all day.

We have made plans to come back here on March 8 for an air show the Blue Angels do each year to "kick-off" their show season.

The park only had room for us for one night, so we have to move on. We are going to head north of here along the Salton Sea then west to the resort town of Borrego Springs. We were able to book three nights (Sun, Mon, and Tue) at an RV Resort there springsatborrego.com
Looks really great! Tonight and tomorrow we hope to get into a State Park in the area so we'll be close enough to get in the resort early and set up on Sunday for Super Bowl.

That's it for now. Sunny and 68 in El Centro, CA. I'll have time to post recent pictures this weekend.
